About my work and gallery

Ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil, I've been completely driven by a passion for art, drawing and design. It's the ability to create an image from your own imagination,

a piece of art that can stir the soul and/or leave a lasting impression on the mind of the viewer. It's the ability to achieve this that drives me on.

Fuelled by my love of art and poetry, I've worked hard to establish my very own gallery where I can relay that passion for creative contemporary art and poetry to a wider audience. I love to share the creative journey my mind has undertaken.

Myself, and some of the creative thinking behind my work

Charley Sim

Contemporary artist and poet.

After 40 years in the high pressure Advertising world, where the demand to produce new designs was constant,  I'm now able to redirect my creativity into art.

The Ploughman

'The Ploughman'

Those 'hard-bitten' men who trawled the North Sea for an elusive catch, were often 'thran' and 'stoic' men. Here I'm attempting to portray a glimpse into the 'tempest' that often lay beneath those 'still' deep waters.

My Angel, my 'tinkerbell', my saviour she brings me a softness and a calm, a warmth to my soul as the gentle 'thrum' of her wings cools my beating heart.

I hope never to be a 'chocolate-box' painter.
I believe I need to push myself creatively in as many directions as possible.
Forty years in the 'cut and thrust' of the design and marketing world failed
to blunt the depth of my artistic imagination.
I continually seek-out new ways to realise my creative ambitions and fulfil my desire to let other people
'see what I see'.
